In other news, pie
Because, you see, my birthday dinner of picnic food was too much to permit dessert, so I brought the End of the World Pie I’d requested in to the bead store, wherein it mysteriously vanished.
To back up a moment, highlights of my birthday include purchasing a crochet book and the first English volume of Black Lagoon at the same time (quoth the clerk: “I make no judgments. I just check people out.” after I insisted I was not, in fact, trying to be funny) (although it was funny), the crate of Zoobles my sister sent me along with a note to enjoy dismembering them, getting the come competent clerk at the fabric store and explaining to a very intoxicated Mum that no, no one has ever seen the face of Todd in the Shadows. That’s why he’s Todd in the Shadows as opposed to That Guy Todd or Todd Hates Ke$ha. All in all, a fabulous day.
Tuesday followed suit what with the disappearing pie. Post-pie, and more recipe requests than I’ve ever gotten, the lady that plays in my hair bought me lunch and invited me over to her house so we can work on my kit, which still doesn’t have a name, but it might tomorrow, since that’s when I’ll be over at her place. She said she has nine taxidermied quail in her front yard. The woman who killed a rattlesnake with a shovel while wearing flip-flops and an orange mumu will be joining us. I’m working on cramming as much trivia into my head as I can today, so I have some hope of being entertaining without booze ingestion. Not that this is usually a problem, but I’m driving and such.
Some of the best trivia you will ever read:

Writing has been going pretty well. I’m down to one scene for the Help_japan auction, which is already more than twice what PKT and I advertised, and kind of a mess even for a draft. I’ve basically been doing a beat poem about how sexy barely legal goth boys are and it’s gone on for 20 pages now.
Speaking of writing, darkmachines and Blogger Eonism are again running their oh-so-fabulous Summer Sessions, wherein they bring together creative types on the web to interview each other.
^ More info. Yes, I am signed up myself :D. Damn straight!
And speaking of beat poems,

Tim Minchin’s “Storm” is now available with animation. If you have ten minutes, aren’t at work and feel the need for an ode to skepticism in your life, you might want to check that out.
Beyond that, I’m having a bit of a dolly renaissance over here. Shall we say I’ve already used up my personal limit of two new ones per year? I know a lot of people are not happy with Leeke World over the Michaela (or, however they spelled it) debacle but…
(You guys know the doll they supposedly copied was a copy itself, right?)
…Well, there really is no but besides WOULD YOU LOOK AT THESE I MEAN SRSLY.

And I’m working on getting photos of the rest of the gang. As soon as the sun isn’t directly overhead, I might go work on that summore.
